Join us for a dynamic 60-minute performance that blends South Asian, African, Middle Eastern, and African American traditions, featuring original compositions rooted in traditional Bangladeshi folk drumming, which is Mir Naqibul Islam's specialization. This vibrant quartet, all Brooklyn-based artists who met through music, includes tabla, darbuka, kanun, daf, violin, balafon, cello, and a tap dancer, presenting a unique cross-genre style that showcases the beauty of cross-cultural collaboration.
Experience an interactive session where the audience is invited to participate in rhythm and dance through an engaging call-and-response format. This family-friendly performance is accessible to all, requiring no language skills, and provides a joyful opportunity to explore familiar and new instruments.
