Here are a few paid internship opportunities open for applications, plus a photo contest! 

Ladders for Leaders
The Ladders for Leaders program offers outstanding high school and college students the opportunity to participate in paid 6-week summer internships with leading corporations, non-profit organizations, and government agencies in New York City.  Ladders for Leaders is open to NYC students ages 16—21, enrolled in high school or college with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 80 (3.00) and prior work or volunteer experience. Apply here by February 20, 2022.  

Futures & Options: Summer Internship Program
This internship program serves NYC youth ages 16-19. Students typically work 150 hours over six weeks in the summer, earning $15/hour, and participate in career-readiness workshops to augment their learning. Find more information here.  Apply here by March 4. 

The Jewish Museum: Teen Photo Contest
Inspired by the stories told through objects and works of art in the exhibitions Afterlives: Recovering the Lost Stories of Looted Art and The Hare with Amber Eyes, the Jewish Museum invites middle and high school students to submit photographs that feature a meaningful object from their own lives, one that depicts a personal, cultural, or historical connection. For more information, please email teenprograms@thejm.org. Submit your photo here by March 11, 2022.

Museum of Arts and Design: Artslife Internship
Artslife is a paid summer internship program for rising sophomores and juniors enrolled in New York City public and charter high schools that combines art and design with leadership training, museum studies, and community engagement. Participants are introduced to careers in all sectors of the museum: Curatorial, Education, Development, Communications and Marketing, Visitor Services, Security, and Registrar. The application for Artslife 2022 internship program is now open! Applications must be submitted here by April 3, 2022 at 11:59 pm.

Teen Transmitters at the Paley Center for Media
Teen Transmitters at the Paley Center for Media, is a 100 hour paid summer internship for rising 11th and 12th grade students who attend New York City public high schools.  In addition to studying the media landscape, interns will find out what it means to be a media maker. Industry professionals, museum curators, journalists, documentarians, and podcast producers will be invited to speak to the students about their career paths and act as mentors over the course of the program. For the culminating project, interns will produce an original podcast series about their relationship to media.  Get more info and apply here by April 11, 2022 by 5:00 PM.
