Books Unbanned was founded on the principle of giving teens and young adults access to the materials they want to read.
We invite individuals ages 13–21 to apply for a free BPL eCard, providing access to our full eBook/audiobook collection as well as our learning databases. To apply, send an email to booksunbanned@bklynlibrary.org stating your age and your interest in applying for the card. A BPL staff member will then send you a link to the full application for you to complete. You will receive an email with your eCard information.
For New York State residents
BPL’s eCard is always free to teenagers who live or go to school anywhere in New York State. Apply here.
You can also apply for cards from our partner libraries
